Reception explore Australia
The children have had a fabulous day learning all about Australia. We have read a story about Koala bears this morning and this afternoon completed some beautiful pieces of Aboriginal Art. A great start to the week - well done Reception!
Spring flowers
Class 1 had a lovely time planting the flowers that they have studied in their science lessons. They have added a lovely bit of colour to the outside area. Thank you to the class 3 children for their help too.
Which plants and trees can you identify?
Years 1 & 2 have a great time exploring Elford Hall garden. They were identifying plants and trees whilst on the walk. They also spotted lots of trees and discussed whether they were deciduous or evergreen. Great fun and scientific exploring!
Chinese New Year
We really enjoyed our Chinese New Year lunch today. We explored new tastes and all opened our fortune cookies.
Play leaders
Year 4 and 5 have been contributing and planning activities to become amazing sports leaders. We’ve thought of key aspects of play to make it fun and safe. We are looking forward to testing our ideas out before leading our own activities.
Investigating switches in science
Today we combined our science and DT skills to create our own switches. We were able to use these to control different components. We then evaluated our designs looking for what went well and where we could improve.
