York Trip
Arrived safely after only a slight hold up on the motorway. Lunch and then off to the city centre for The Jorvik Centre and Dig. Brilliant time. Back to the centre for dinner and currently designing and painting Viking shields. All children happy and tired (I hope!!). Enjoy the photos.

Class 1 travel to Australia

What are the parts of the plant called and what are their functions?
The children in class two have proved what wonderful scientists they are. They demonstrated their learning about the parts of the plants and their functions by designing and making a flower, then labelling the parts and their functions. Another practical and fun science lesson!
Acting out Katie in London
Class know the story Katie in London really well now. Before they start writing a retelling of the story next week, they acted out key parts of the story, retelling key phrases. Great work everyone!
Can you give clear instructions?
During computing lessons, Class 2 practised giving each other clear instructions. Once they mastered doing this, they used this skill to program the bee bots clear instructions to move around a map. Great work children!
Pig the pug goes for a walk with Class 1
We had a wonderful walk around Elford with our travelling tale cuddly toy, Pig the Pug. We showed him the sites of the village including the pub, the village hall and the park. The children were excited to show Pig around the village. Even though it was a little bit wet, we all had a lovely walk.

Rhyming with Pig the Pug
We have had lots of fun completing activities linked to our travelling tale. In Literacy we became rhyme detectives and worked with a friend to spot the rhyming words in our story. It was lots of fun! Great work Class 1!
