Class 3

Today we listened to 4 different pieces of music thinking about what memory or idea  each piece of music brought to mind.

Today we created our own shadow puppets and experimented with what happened as we moved the light source closer or further away.

Today we have conducted a science experiment looking at the difference in shadow length and direction at various times of the day.

Class 2 and 3 children have had a wonderful trip to Winterbourne House and garden to be guests at their ‘Seeds of change’ gathering. Here the brilliant team at ‘The Great Imagining’ led marquees for the children to explore and learn about steps they could take towards a greener, fairer and wiser…

Yesterday we had a visit from Asian Reeves, an actress and singer who works closely with The Great Imagining! Together we thought about climate change and the effects of global warming. Together we created a rap and a beat made from our combined ideas! 

Today we have been hot seating. We put ourselves in the position of Rhodopis, the character from our class text and answers questions as her. We thought about how she may be feeling and the different things she has been experiencing.

Year 3 had a wonderful afternoon at Spital tennis club. They learnt many skills and had lots of fun. As always, they were wonderful representatives of The Howard. 
 

Today we have been thinking about what a plant needs to grow and if they are able to grow without things such as light, soil and water. We have conducted an experiment to see if plants can grow in different environments and we will monitor these carefully over the next few weeks. 

Outstanding effort and sportsmanship today. You all played really well.

Today we took our music lesson outside! This term we have been learning how to play the djembe drums.
