Friends Association

'Friends of Howard Primary' aim to support the school in a variety of ways, enhancing the children's daily experience. Every parent automatically becomes a member and is encouraged to get involved in whatever way they can.  Fundraising  is a large part of the role of 'Friends' and this has been hugely successful in recent years. Playground markings, a pagoda, and ten iPads are just a few items purchased with the money raised.

Just as importantly, 'Friends' also work hard to create extra special memories for the children that will stay with them into adulthood. Discos, fetes and chocolate bingo are all firms favourites with the children.  Being actively involved fosters a close relationship between the parents and the staff, who together,  can achieve wonderful things.

Update from Friends - October 2017

Friends of Howard School and the village of Elford have been pulling out all the stops in order to raise money for the new classroom. Over the summer holidays a village couple very kindly opened up their home as a venue for a Pizza and Paella fundraising night which was enjoyed by more than 80 Elfordians. The 'Singing Sombrero' got everyone in the mood and joining in.
The new academic year got off to a swinging and swaying start with a Oktoberfest Bavarian night in the village hall. The live Ompah Band had everyone up on their feet - a night to remember!
The same weekend saw 17 cyclists (parents and villagers) put all their training to the test to complete a 100km ride which they all successfully completed which raised an unbelievable £10,000 in sponsorship! Thank you so much to everyone who organised or supported any of these events.
