Friends Association

'Friends of Howard Primary' aim to support the school in a variety of ways, enhancing the children's daily experience. Every parent automatically becomes a member and is encouraged to get involved in whatever way they can.  Fundraising  is a large part of the role of 'Friends' and this has been hugely successful in recent years. Playground markings, a pagoda, and ten iPads are just a few items purchased with the money raised.

Just as importantly, 'Friends' also work hard to create extra special memories for the children that will stay with them into adulthood. Discos, fetes and chocolate bingo are all firms favourites with the children.  Being actively involved fosters a close relationship between the parents and the staff, who together,  can achieve wonderful things.

Update from Friends - February 2017

This year, 'Friends' have been asked to fundraise towards a new classroom! This is an exciting prospect for our small school,   which will bring enormous benefit for the children. Luckily our wonderful villagers have rallied around us not only supporting our events but also organising some of their own in aid of this project. The profits from a New Year's Eve party, a race night and a 'Night at the Movies'
experience have got us off to a wonderful start. Future fundraisers include a Bavarian night 22nd September and an 'Elford Prom' on 6th May. Architectural plans are in progress so watch this space for more information as it becomes available!
